Our History
In 2012, industry expert Ben Richards launched North Star, channelling decades of experience into a singular vision for progress. From its earliest days, the company endeavoured to deliver accurate and ethical testing, sampling, inspections and unbiased advice for clients.
There was a gap in the market for a consultancy that raised industry standards and pushed the boundaries of advancement. With an expert touch, North Star Environmental Ltd filled that void, and has developed a glowing reputation ever since.
Growth from The Start
From a solid foundation, the company has grown to a point where it now employs over 30 members of staff, both technical and administrative. North Star Environmental Ltd is widely considered one of Britain’s leading consultancies, and by maintaining an ethos of continual progress, we plan to break through new frontiers in technology, ambition and delivery.
North Star specialises in a variety of environmental services, chiefly airborne respirable asbestos fibre sampling and analysis, delivered to a range of sectors. This includes personal monitoring, enclosure leak testing, reassurance testing and four-stage Certificates of Reoccupation.
We also complete management, demolition and refurbishment surveys, an essential precursor to construction work, in addition to overseeing asbestos compliance audits. North Star also has the ability to take samples of, and test for, legionella, a potentially fatal bacterium found in water systems.
UKAS-Accredited
We’re also extremely proud of our in-house, UKAS-accredited laboratory, which enables us to have full control of the entire asbestos sampling and analysis process. We’re also accredited to operate mobile testing laboratories nationwide, further distinguishing North Star as a force within its field.
